The long summer vacation is now drawing to a close and students across the UK are preparing to go back to school.

Pupils from both primary and secondary schools are to return, alongside college and sixth form students.

Traditionally, school starts around the first few days of September and ends again as Christmas approaches.

Most schools are reopening again this week, after a lengthy six-week break from the classroom.

The dates for each school to return to normal class times varies across the UK, and is often different for each school district.
